Vehicles captured in Paris

Hello, I'm sorry I write in English but I'm from Poland and don't know French.I'm not sure I write in good place, but I'll try.I find in the web one photo of Schwimmwagen captured in Paris by French partisans (Maquis?) and I want to build it. There is the photo:But I can't find any informations. Do you know some www pages witch can help me (photos, drawings etc) or maybe you can tell me what have I write in google to start to search? I'm intesting in other vehicles captured by French too.In this moment I build model of Hetzer captured by Polish parisans in Warsaw during Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and there will be good looking to put Polish and French part of history together.

it is french troop of navy.

i like very much poland.i go 3 times and i go again this year (june)
(my wife name is wiemenski...she is born in france but is grand father
was soldier in france during the first world war)

I have the idea to build German vehicles captured in countries of Europe during WWII (in Poland, France, Netherlands, Russia etc.)

the origin of the picture of the Schwimmwagen is from the movie "the war in colour", we can see the Schwimm in a colun of the 2e DB (french tank unit) around Paris at the moment of the liberation in august 1944.
The two Soldiers are from the french navy.

Very interesting picture indeed !

The two french "sailors" are most likely from the RBFM, the M10 Tank destroyer equiped unit of the 2nd DB.

In my opinion, the schwimmwagen is still in it's original colour scheme except for the too obvious german markings which are certainly subdued.

No 2eme DB insignia in sight, just a hastily tied down french flag for recognition.

No doubt the new owner's markings will soon appear...

French troops were known to love foreign equipment (french was scare), and especially german as a form of revenge... and also for it's real qualities.
