In strategic terms, if the American Industry would have
produced such a vehicle in numbers similar to the sum of the various M10, M18
and M36 (and could have been even much greater: the "Jagdsherman"
would have been simpler and cheaper, it could have been cranked out in
something like 15,000, 20,000 vehicles), well, there is a strong possibility
that the war in Europe would have been over within 1944, with much less
losses for the U.S. and Allied forces, and the whole German territory (and,
maybe, even a significan slice of Poland) would have been occupied by
Americans and Britons, and not by the Russians.
